2/19/16 Friday Notes

PTSA Alternative Fundraiser

In this week’s Friday Folder, we sent home an alternative fundraiser form in order to raise some money to cover expenses for the end of the year (like field trip buses and classroom supplies.)  There are very few people in the world that enjoy fundraising and the work to make it happen.  People generally don’t want to sell or buy stuff that we may not need, and we try hard as an organization not to get into the business of selling stuff.  This fundraiser model is based on people just making donations, not in exchange for events, things or stuff!

If this campaign works out, we may not need to do other fundraisers later in this year, AND we may decide that we will continue to use this technique in place of other fundraisers in the future.  (Full disclosure: we will still do the silent auction on April 15th.)  By the end of the weekend, I’ll make an online donation form for this campaign so you can make a donation on the website with a credit card.  We very much appreciate your support.  It makes a real difference for our students and the learning environment we can offer in our little community school.

PTSA Membership – Please Join Today

It is not too late to join!  Our next Membership report is due on the 1st of February.  If you haven’t become a member of the CCCK-8 PTSA, please do so soon.  Your membership and participation helps  us enhance our students’ experience and the learning environment at our school.  Participating in the PTSA is also a great way to stay connected to what is happening in our school community.  We count on your support.  We have built an online form to make it super easy to join.  Just visit our website at http://ccck8ptsa.org/join-ptsa/ptsa-membership-form-online/  We look forward to your participation!

PTSA Help Wanted:

Silent Auction Co-Planner

We will be hosting our annual silent auction as part of the talent show Friday, April 15th.  This is a MAJOR fundraiser for us and helps us be able to help pay for the Enrichment programs we hosted and will host this year.  It will also allow us to supplement the school’s technology budget (i.e. laptops, chromebooks, iPads) as well as help us prepare for next year where school financial resources will likely be more limited.  We really need one other person to help us plan and prepare for this event, please contact Jody Dickson at jody@dickson.org or x3568 or Beth Deming at beammeupdeming@yahoo.com or 303-642-0841

Stay tuned on our website http://www.ccck8ptsa.org or on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/CCCK8PTSA for more information on upcoming programs. If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, concerns, please feel free to contact me.
