6 – 8:30 pm Grab your friends and wear your costumes for an evening of Halloween and Fall Season fun! This event features a warm meal, lots of games, Booville, storytelling and the famous ‘Haunted Halls’. This year we are launching a COSTUME contest too. Kids can win best costume in the following categories: cutest, scariest, creative and realistic. We will also have a costume competition amongst the adult costumes as well! This event is a major fundraiser for CCCK-8 PTSA and helps fund the learning environment enhancements we want to bring to the school. Dinner (6 – 7:30 pm) is $5 per person. Activity wristbands (7 – 8:30 pm) are $5 per person for all activities.
Trick or Treat Street:
Trick or Treat Street is a BIG event for us. We have a couple ways that you can help make this event a success for the school!
The 7th and 8th grades are planning our infamous “Haunted Halls” for Trick or Treat Street. They are in need of some supplies, including: Duct Tape (MOST IMPORTANT), Blue painters tape for sensitive walls, Black Trash Bags/ Black Tarps, Bags of Candy (see below), Halloween Costumes or Masks , Any Type of Halloween Decorations for Halls/Rooms, Hay Bales for a Hay Maze. If you are able to donate them, please deliver to Ms. Sievers.
Donate Food, Volunteer Time:
You can help us with this very important fundraiser by donating food or volunteering at the event. There are LOTS of ways you can help, so find the perfect spot(s) for you on our sign-up form: http://signup.com/go/vETpTOU Sign up early to get the best spots!
We need candy for the Haunted House and Trick or Treat Street! The classroom that donates the most pounds of candy will get an extra recess! Please bring your candy donation to your teacher by Monday, October 26th.
Parent volunteers will be needed to judge Reflections entries on Tuesday, October 24th between 3:45 – 5 pm. Judges will be provided with specific criteria to evaluating the individual pieces of original creative work. Please email Laura Olson at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up.
Eagle Eyes is a program where men are present in the school during school hours, helping the students and staff and keeping watch for good and bad behaviors in and around the school. You do not need to be a dad to participate: Uncles, Grandfathers, Older Brothers, Cousins, Neighbors, Dads are all welcome! To claim your spot, go to this Sign Up form: http://signup.com/go/VqEOBxL If you have any questions about the program, please contact Jason Moat, 303-378-4500
Please help with a BIG Fundraising Goal
For the past year, we have been trying to fundraise for a supplemental reading program that is really important for the students who are struggling with reading early in their education. We already have the “Leveled Literacy Intervention” program for K – 2 grades. Now we are trying to purchase the next level so the students that are still struggling with reading after 2nd grade can continue to benefit from the program. It is a BIG ask, but we think it is really important for the students that need it. Ms. Little has started a Donors Choose campaign: https://www.donorschoose.org/project/eagles-soaring-in-reading/2726973/ Please go online and donate as much as you can. Then forward to friends, family and businesses that you think would help support this important effort.
